The Rev. Foster M. Mays is rector of Epiphany Episcopal Church and St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in the Episcopal Diocese of Kansas. He has a passion for education, pastoral care and mission work. He is well known for believing that the well being of a community is best assessed by the well being of its most vulnerable members.
Foster was born in South Carolina and served the wider church in a variety of lay capacities for more than 30 years e.g., choir member, Sunday school teacher, young adult coordinator, mission advocacy, Eucharistic minister and visitor, and vestry member.
Prior to Foster’s call to Holy Orders, he had an extensive background in trust administration, financial management, commercial real estate and the US Navy. He has a B.S. from the University of South Carolina, a M.B.A. from George Washington University and a M.Div. from Sewanee, the University of the South.
He is married to Linda Leinbach Mays and they have two children, Russell and Nicholas and their dog, Lewis.
